Meeting Place - Newark Valley
At Gazebo in front of Post Office. From Endicott 38B and 38 or Owego route NY38, just before only light in town on NY38.
To Berkshire
- From Gazebo Left to Light
- At light Right (north) on NY38
Caution - when crossing train tracks do so as much as possible at right angles to the tracks. When in doubt, dismount.
- Arrive Berkshire
Return to Newark Valley
- Reverse directions (south) on NY38
Caution - when crossing train tracks do so as much as possible at right angles to the tracks. When in doubt, dismount.
- First Left after Light in Newark Valley
Notes -
- While NY38 has high speed traffic, it also has good wide shoulders. So it is a good place for beginners to get used to high speed traffic.
Places to Eat -
Not a lot of choice, but in Newark Valley - Cyber Cafe - which is on your right in first block west from light.
Once the bridge repair is finished, you might try the old railroad depot museum - if it is open.
