Meeting Place - Maine Town Park
From Binghamton area - NY17W to Exit #67 North (Route NY26 North) Follow NY26 to Maine. Park is just past Maine Memorial school. (On left as you pass the commercial part of Maine.)
To Union Center
- From parking lot Right onto NY26 south
- In 3/4 mile Left onto Pollard Hill Road
If you're not comfortable making a left across high speed traffic, dismount and walk across.
- Cross Bridge - use caution, especially if bridge surface is wet!
- Right onto Edson/Edison just after crossing bridge
- Straight on Edson/Edison at junction with Fredericks
- Right at T onto Nanticoke Drive
Return to Maine
- On Nanticoke Drive cross bridge
- Right at Jct. NY26
- Left to parking area at start
If you're not comfortable making a left across high speed traffic, dismount and walk across.
Notes -
- Edson/Edison is a beautiful place to bicycle. It is shady, has a good road surface, and has very little traffic.
- Some people prefer to retrace route on Edson/Edison rather than return via NY26.
- Ice cream is just across NY26 from the school.
- For beginners who are not comfortable making left turns across high speed traffic (NY26) - park along Pollard Hill Road and just do the loop. Reduces distance by about 1.5 miles.
